Jennifer Lopez says she may retire after she gives birth to her first child. The singer says she doesn’t want to be a working mother. “I don’t know – and I like that,” Lopez says of the possible retirement, “because my life has been so planned for so many years. Once I did the tour, I really just wanted to shut it down.”
Lopez said she kept her pregnancy quiet for as long as she could because she and her husband Marc Anthony wanted to enjoy the experience alone for a while. “This is my experience and my husband’s experience, and we get to hold that for a little while,” Lopez said.
She added that Anthony played a large part in her decision to not announce the baby news right away. “He made me realize you can be an artist, and have credibility and success, without your life being on public display,” she says.
Lopez is due to give birth in the spring.
