Her album is coming out in April and she'll also be touring with Matchbox 20.

What do you think of her new look?

World Renowned Pianist Oscar Peterson Passes Away

Canadian world renowned pianist Oscar Peterson died late on Sunday due to kidney failure at age 82.

Peterson was born on August 15, 1925, the fourth of five children of a Canadian Pacific Railway porter who played piano. The family lived in Little Burgundy, a black enclave in Montreal, where Peterson's elder sister, Daisy, gave her siblings their first piano lessons.

Musicians Teddy Wilson and Nat "King" Cole were among early influences. When Peterson was a teenager his father played him a recording of Art Tatum -- the lightning-fast pianist to whom Peterson would later be compared -- which intimidated him so much he stayed away from the piano for a month.

At 14, he began performing for radio and played in a school band that included trumpeter Maynard Ferguson.

His career on the rise, Peterson asked his father if he could drop out of school. The elder Peterson said he would not "let him leave high school to be a jazz piano player. You have to be the best, there is no second best."

He took it to heart.

"When I started I had great belief, and there were quite a few bruises and disappointments along the way, but I never lost the belief," he told Reuters in 1999.

Peterson famously got his big break in the late 1940s when impresario and record producer Norman Granz was in a taxi en route to the Montreal airport, with the radio tuned to a live show featuring Peterson's trio. Granz demanded the cabbie make a beeline to the nightclub, where he met Peterson. (source:

New Kylie Promotional Pictures of "X"

Do you like Kylie's new image, and do you think her music has any substance or is it just a smart marketing tactic to sell an image?

MJ feat. Fergie - "Beat It"

Here’s another sampling off the album featuring Fergie. It’s nothing stellar, but then again, how do you improve on a classic? We wish someone was making timeless records like “Beat It” these days. (source: Rap-Up.com)

I agree with Rap-Up, I don't think it's amazing and it was just fine as it was. Why didn't Michael just make a special edition without involving other singers. He could have remixed his songs his way, or just sell an album with his original songs with new songs, maybe a best of, something like that.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

"Last Christmas" - Coldplay or Wham?

Coldplay have made an acoustic version of last Christmas, it's a nice attempt however I don't think that anyone could ever do better than George Michael. His voice is simply perfect. In addition, it's a Christmas classic, thus it's difficult to do better. WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Rihanna - On the cover of FHM Magazine

Rihanna is featured on the cover of Germany FHM Magazine on the January 2008 issue. Now that's a beautiful way to start the year, don't you think? ;-)

Kanye West - Covers Spin Magazine

Here's the full interview of Kanye West, which will be featured in January's issue of "Spin" magazine. He has a little black obssession don't you think? I mean be proud of who you are, but there's no shame in being white, and why categorize what you do as in black or white, what's the point?

Kanmade a conscious effort to shape Graduation for the next level of mainstream success? :

A conscious effort to take it to the next level in every form of success. More black people bought this album than any I’ve made.

Does that make sense to you? :

Uh-huh. Because I made the album blacker.

You think Graduation is blacker than The College Dropout?
Way blacker.
“Can’t Tell Me Nothing” — how hood is that record?:

“Good Life” is straight Steve Harvey, all day long. “Flashing Lights”? I never had a record that was that black. But it’s white at the same time. Certain things are so good it doesn’t have to be white or black. That’s what Graduation is. Take “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.” It’s a white sample, but everything I do to it is to make it as black as possible. So I’ma make the bass as black as possible; I’ma make the lyrics as intense as possible.

Are these choices strictly artistic, or are you thinking as a marketer, too? :
Can you separate those roles?:

I can’t. I’m a pop enigma. I live and breathe every element in life. I rock a bespoke suit and I go to Harold’s for fried chicken. It’s all these things at once, because, as a tastemaker, I find the best of everything. There’s certain things that black people are the best at and certain things that white people are the best at. Whatever we as black people are the best at, I’ma go get that. Like, on Christmas I don’t want any food that tastes white. And when I go to purchase a house, I don’t want my credit to look black. [Laughs]

And what foods would fall into that category? White-people food?:

You know what it is. You never ate fried chicken and said, “This tastes white.” It’s America. People know the stereotypes. I play to the stereotypes. I believe in the stereotypes. And I submit to them. [Affects a black, Southern accent] “Man, black people sure can cook some chicken! And I’ma get some black chicken.”

Ciara's Christmas Present!

Ciara will premiere the music video for her new single titled "That's Right" (feat. Lil' Jon) at the stroke of midnight on Christmas Day, she's also going to let her fans download the video for free!
