Colin Munroe - "I Want Those Flashing Lights"!

Marked Music Inc. is pleased to announce the formation of an exclusive joint venture with Grammy Award-winning super producer Dallas Austin, and his production imprint, Rowdy Records, for the worldwide release of Don’t Think Less of Me, the debut album from artist/producer Colin Munroe.

In the last two years, Ottawa, Canada native, Colin Munroe, has established himself as a go-to producer in Canada’s urban music community. Munroe co-wrote and produced ten songs on Ray Robinson’s Juno Award-nominated debut, What It Is and has logged studio time producing and writing with notable artists including Chauncey Black (formerly of Blackstreet), Glenn Lewis, Divine Brown, Saukrates, Sean Price of Boot Camp Clik and Degrassi: The Next Generation star Drake, among others.

Colin Munroe’s debut album, Don’t Think Less of Me, is a departure from his urban production. Rich in melody and depth, the album owes more to Colin’s love of Tin Pan Alley, The Beatles and early Van Morrison than Dr. Dre. In true do-it-yourself fashion, Don’t Think Less of Me was entirely written, performed, arranged and produced by Colin Munroe, first in his attic studio, before being completed at Toronto’s venerable Metalworks Studios. In Colin’s words, “It's an album of songs about trying to figure things out: life, love, leaving home…there’s even a song about writing songs!” Mixed by Grammy nominee Mark Needham (The Killers, My Chemical Romance), the disc is scheduled for Canadian release in March 2008 on Marked Music, with distribution through Fontana North. The web-video for Colin’s buzz single “World of Pain” recently received a surge of attention online, logging over 350,000 views on YouTube.com (earning top 50 Honors in multiple countries in the process), secured features on DailyMotion, MySpace and Yahoo Video and was recently added to rotation at Canada’s MuchMusic.
