Last night, Jay-Z was interviewed and performed "Roc Boys" on "The Late Show with David Letterman".

He discusses his previous early retirement, the new album, and makes an amazing performance. The horns on "Roc Boys" are great, if you ask me they really make this song a success!

Alanis Morissette's New Album!

Alanis Morissette is back in the studio working on "Flavors of Entanglement," her first new studio album since 2004’s "So-Called Chaos." A lot has happened in the interim including a well-publicized split with her fiancée, actor Ryan Reynolds and yes, in addition to more vast political concerns, she’s talking about her life on the album.

“Writing about my own personal relationships is my favorite thing to do ’cause it’s the only thing I can really comment on with any kind of conviction or authority,” she says. “I guess I could have fictionalized this whole record, but that wouldn’t have been fun for me.”

Alanis also added: “I love to dance so there’s a lot of loops and beats on this record where you can dance your face off.” (source: Rolling Stones)

In this case, I hope she'll do something like the remix she did of Seal's "Crazy", here's the video:

New Jay-Z HP Commercial

Jay-Z is keeping himself extremely busy these days, a new album, movie, commercials, appearances, he definitely hasn't retired!

Jay-Z - Taking over Sirius Hip Hop Channel!

Jay-Z will be taking over Sirius‘ “Hip-Hop Nation” satellite radio channel for a week to promote his upcoming album, “American Gangster.” The channel will be renamed “Jay-Z Nation” for the rapper’s week long run. That’s pretty major, if you ask me.

“Jay-Z Nation” will begin Monday November 5 and will feature Jay-Z playing songs from his new album along with much of the material in his extensive catalogue. Jay will also play music from other artists as well as provide intros to some of his songs and discuss the meanings and stories behind them.

Jay-Z’s new album, “American Gangster”, is in stores November 6.

Alicia Keys at the Black Ball Concert 2007!

Alicia Keys recently performed her “Go Ahead” track off of her upcoming “As I Am” at the Black Ball Concert 2007.

New Spice Girls Video - "Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)"

This is a very predictible song of the Spice Girls, same old same old as they used to do. It's a very safe song, but I must say that the video was very well shot. The director did a great job.

Beyonce's looking for an international sound...

Apparently Beyonce believes that her latest album was too American, and R&B like. I am honestly sorry to hear this, because I think that the best music still comes from the U.S. Just look at last night's European Music Awards and you'll see what I mean.

According to reports, Beyonce approached up-and-coming dance act The Freemasons to work on a new song for her next album- after her last album ‘B-Day’ didn’t do as well as expected.

James Wiltshire, one half of the dance duo, said: “The album is going to be huge.

“It will rival anything the likes of Britney and Rihanna have done recently. Beyoncé and her team can see where mistakes were made on her last album.

“That was very American, very r’n'b and stripped back. This time they want to go for a more international sound and hit as many audiences as possible.

I really hope that it won't sound like anything Britney or Rihanna are doing, Beyonce should stick to her unique sound.

Carrie's "Carnival Ride" is number 1 in the U.S!

She has sold an amazing 527,000 copies during its debut week.

Her 2005’s Some Hearts CD, debuted with 315,000 copies in its first week. She is also the top of the chart for best sales week for a female country artist.

Underwood’s debut of 530,000 copies is DOUBLE what Kelly Clarkson’s latest CD, My December, sold in its first week. (source:
Mia's Meddlings)

She completely deserves it, the girl knows how to sing!

"Planet Earth" - the tour continues!

Great news, it looks like Prince's tour "Planet Earth" is going to continue sometime in the near future. On his site, a poll asks where you think he should continue his tour.

Here are the choices:

1. Paris
2. Rome
3. Holland
4. Somewhere in the U.S
5. Australia

I live in Israel right now, so my choice was difficult, although I still voted for Holland! In any case I hope it'll be Holland, Paris, or Rome! Let me know what your favorite location is.

Amy Winehouse, it's time to shape up!

Last night, at the 2007 EMA Awards Amy performed "Back to Black" and most of the times she forgot the words, or at least they weren't very clear. In addition, when she picked up her artists' choice award she looked extremely confused and uncomfortable. She barely said thank you. Again, it's so sad to see her talent go to waste, I wish she could get some serious help to get out of the drugs alcohol, and her husband Blake.

Here's her last night's performance:

Jordin Sparks Album Cover!

The last season's winner of American Idol is finally going to release her new album on November 20th, it looks like the album will also be called "Jordin Sparks". It would make sense with the cover they picked for it, and since it will be her first album why not do something about herself.

The first single of her album is called "Tattoo", it debuted on number 58 on the Billboard HOT 100 in August and has since reached up to number 34.

Originally, Jive Records planned to produce 600,000 copies of her album, however due to high demand they will crank it up to 800,000.

I just found Jordin's first video "Tattoo", enjoy and let me know what you think!

New John Legend Video - "Another Again"

John Legend has released a new video called "Another Again", I like it, what do you think about it?

Mary J. Blige - "Album Cover" and more!

Here's Mary J's official album cover "Growing Pains" and exclusive album pictures, enjoy!

James Blunt New Video - "Same Mistake"

It was said that the song was a reaction against 9/11, but James Blunt would rather see people relate it to their own lives.

In his own words: “We all make mistakes. I would rather people relate it to themselves. We played it on tour, it works really well live".

Nicole's Album - Pushed back to 2008!

For the third time this fall, Nicole Scherzinger's debut CD is being pushed back again, this time to 2008, confirms Interscope.

Her Name is Nicole, was supposed to be released on October 6th, and again on November 6th. Then, facing stiff chart competition from Jay-Z and Chris Brown, it was moved to Nov. 20.

Scherzinger's post-Pussycat effort, which has been in the works for more than two years and features collaborations with will.i.am, Sting, Snowpatrol's Gary Lightbody, T.I., and Akon, was meant to launch Scherzinger as a solo artist on the same playing field as Interscope label-mates Gwen Stefani and Fergie.

After a negative response to the dance track "Whatever U Like," and with her second single, "Baby Love," nowhere near the Hot 100, insiders say Scherzinger's team is "rethinking" the roll-out while leaving an option open for more studio time.

Britney's Radio Album Promotion

Britney is really lucky that her fans haven't given up on her because she clearly doesn't care about them. In an interview with Ryan Seacrest she clearly showed that she didn't have interest in promoting her album very much. First her friends had to wake her up for her to talk to Ryan, then she left in the middle of the interview to take a shower. How can anyone take her seriously as an artist.

Kanye West's "Flashing Lights"

(source: Rap-Up.com)

Rap-Up.com has put up the new cover art of Kanye West's new single, "Flashing Lights". The title is shaped in neon pink fonts while a topless animated woman stands in the middle of star rain. The design is part of the whole concept done in 'Graduation' by Takashi Murakami. The Japanese artist also helmed the art works of West's first two singles from the album, 'Can't Tell Me Nothin'' and 'Stronger'.

Here's "Flashing Lights" (this isn't an official video, it's a preview of the song)

What I really like about songs of Kanye in general is that they have a completely different sound and tune to everything else which is out there in the Hip Hop industry, he's unique!

Prince Video - "Somewhere Here On Earth"

A snippet of Prince's new video "Somewhere Here On Earth" has just been released! I personally love this song, the tune is gentle and beautiful. In addition, in this video Prince tried to portray a story about love, pain, and honesty. It's a charming jazz piece, and I am sure that any Prince fan will love it. The video was shot in Prague and directed by Phil Griffin, who has a very impressive resume of videos with all kinds of famous artists.

I've just updated this post with a YouTube video, the one from Dailymotion didn't work anymore, enjoy and Merry Christmas!
