Janet Jackson is getting into the reality TV business, developing a music competition with 25/7 Prods. for MTV.
The show is still untitiled, however casting has already started. Janet Jackson will mentor a group of young aspiring singers and dancers. The project will be launched in the next coming months.
"It's really about finding who's the next Janet Jackson or Justin Timberlake or Usher," said exec producer Dave Broome. "And we'll find it from a pool of people who you wouldn't typically find it from. We'll go to YMCAs, church groups, local community centers and try to cast the show."
What's great about this show is that it will take place on the streets rather than in a studio. A prize hasn't been selected yet, however it could have something to do with Janet's upcoming tour.
Gil Duldulao and Jackson are behind the show's concept; Jackson, Duldulao, Broome, Kenneth Crear and Johnny Wright are all exec prodcers.
I think that it's a great concept and could really turn out to be a great reality show! What could be better than being mentored by one of the best female dancers and singers of our time?!
